Privacy policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
ChargeRoute.au (“ChargeRoute”, “we”) is an Australian EV charging information and trip-planning website. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- No accounts. We do not require sign-up and do not store personal profiles.
- Location (optional). The “near me” map feature uses your device location only in your browser to centre the map. Coordinates are not stored on our servers as a user profile.
- Route planner inputs. Start, destination, range and SoC values you submit are processed to return stop estimates. We do not use them to build a marketing identity.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights (privacy-oriented, no advertising cookies) to understand traffic and performance.
- Server logs. Hosting may retain standard request logs (IP, user-agent, path, time) for security and reliability.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not invent live charger availability, prices, or reliability from private tracking of you.
Third parties
Map tiles, road routing (e.g. OSRM / OpenRouteService when configured), and hosting providers process technical requests needed to run the site. Charger records come from government open data — see data sources.
